the colours we live

not a fairytale's genesis

By dex_the_creatorPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

It has been a long since I've seen the light, a hope

Friends said the shine in my eyes perish, turning

From bright amber to soft clay.

Oh! But I cried -

And soon the moon, pale, extinguish

Beyond our heads, hands tied, bodies frail

The stars shine above us, claim our fairytale's genesis :

As if a new day was born in this deep blue celestial sphere.

You showed me some light through this enlightening love

Finding some sense, acute, in this hill of gibberish,

"You ain't good, neither charming, are you even listening?

You ain't ordinary, so deceiving, and a bit too selfish."

My parents kept repeating, from night until morning.

I did not like myself. Because of them, I felt empty -

Yet he said that you care; and maybe that he saved me

I saw the light, blinding; yet he made a spark in me,

But you know I fear being abandoned, so you know what's following.

He said, 'I love you all, from your cayenne hair that I would steal ;

to your caramel eyes. Your tawny skin I wanna feel,

Gingerbread hips, to eat it all, you know that I could kill,

To Kiss your orange lips, glossy, they make me thrill !’.

He loved me. But now that's fear that he made me feel,

But guilty am I: of breaking his heart, and mine turned into steel,

No pain felt he; he said he felt no pain -

But he left me marks, some that one can not erase.

In his eyes, did the merigold hue perish,

And our hearts faded into the dark, waiting for silence to consume what rests.

Shades of blues, hues of all, it all started with a sky ;

Laying in the lawn, a carpet green, stars in the eyes

Love was in the air - and I breathed it, inhaling a lie

An illusion, maybe destiny, but through you, I built my mind.

Call it quit; maybe it's destiny. I think both are a lie.

But as humans, we live and feel, it does not mean we shouldn't have tried ;

So I try. And I will keep trying to fall in love,

Until my cheeks turn rouge pink again, even if it is of remorse.
