The Colours Say

"is what you see all you can see?"

Pick up the paint

Let us tell you what they say

Look at the colours

None is like the other

You see, Red, he says;

“All I've known is bloodshed”

Control is a problem

Hate is what embodies him

Blue likes to think

Everyone is against him

In loneliness he lives

With nothing but tears to comfort him

Yellow, she believes

Life is everything it seems

In a bubble, she is happy

And forever, she is smiling.

That's what society

Wants you to see

A pre designed set of beliefs

Forced to make you think

That Red

Doesn't shed any tears

Or feel regret

He has a smile worth stars

And a big golden heart

Blue, not always blue

He can laugh just like you

Has dreams, and hopes

Though burdened with so many woes

Blue is strong,

He does not belong

in the box he was thrown in

Just because he is brave enough

To show his vulnerability

Yellow shines bright

Only when things are alright

She's really a broken hearted child

Still trying to find her way in life

She smiles

But also cries

Her tears even last longer

She puts on a show

Because she wants to be good enough for us

Pick up the paint

Do they still look the same?

Now you know their true face

Forget what the world says

Society keeps you in the dark

So you can't see who they are

These colours actually shine bright

When viewed with a clearer eye

Paint your saddest days

With the blood rushing through your veins

Make someone smile

With the clear blue sky

Create a hopeless love

With the colour of the sun

And then you'll finally believe

That things are never what they seem.
