The Color Red

If this single color I see, I continue to imitate... How long will it be, until there is nothing left?...

The tint that defines limit, at the end of any gauge,

the shade of the blood in my veins,

the very same of that, that spills in thoughts of rage.

The bright color of a questionable hope, that I hope is not in vain‐

A prayer, that that blood I might never see stained on my hands...

that I might never be of blame for the loss of tone in the skin of a lost life.

Through this point of view that places itself in front of where I stand...

that is, the hue reflecting from my eyes in sight of this Burning Paradise‐

If this single color I see, I continue to imitate,

then, it is merely time that is between this pair of eyes and the sight of no color at all.

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
