The Color of Me

My Time to Shine

By Sharon SmithPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Emptiness inside.

What happened to the pride?

They exiled me to an unknown place.

I know nothing now, not one familiar face.

It's dark inside this uncharted land.

There is no brightness, no beaches, no sand.

Only black as far as I can see.

The absence of the most valuable thing anyone can be.

Nobody can recognize me in this color.

It's a very cold life without a mother.

She wasn't taken unexpectedly.

She wasn't taken at all from me.

I was pushed away.

Exiled til this very day.

The darkness takes over.

The black makes it pointless to want to feel sober.

The pain needs to go away.

I want to feel numb every minute of every day.

This is my normal life.

Not worth all the strife.

What do you do when the darkness takes ahold?

You wait for someone else, you'll be left in the cold.

Find your own glow from within.

To suffer from this would be simply a sin.

Keep your inner glow alive.

Continue to believe in yourself and do not deprive.

The shine has to be made by you.

Soon the black will turn to blue.

The colors will lighten along your search.

Let them all judge you from their perch.

The judgement will dim their aura.

Then their souls will be darkened forevermore.

For yourself, you have to make your shine.

Make it so bright that you make them all blind.

Flip all of the negative.

Then is when you'll truly begin to live!
