The color of me

An Orange Blossom Honey

By Jenna MeadePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Well I may wrestle like a gator, green

But oh I’m just a soft suede tangerine.

Suspended in aqua laced lilac dream.

Protected. Robed in velvet aubergine.

If life lacked its color, what would it mean?

Orange, red and blue are the flames in my heart.

Became fire lest I’d be torn apart.

Deep dark forest green fills my eager lung

Enraptures me with golden oxygen

Yellow is my wanting for which I yearn

Blue are the days in which I do not learn

Silver is the lining that grounds me when

My dreams are so hard fought but not quite won.

A black cloud shields me from the burning sun.

Pale pink and crimson flash. Wild, I run.

I may fly fast and high in good weather

But oh I know how grey is the rainbow

Baby when you blur it all together.

So, slow, I drink it in never in vain

Stopping to taste the aqua in the rain.

Loved by reds blues and canary yellows

Frenzied feathered friends my flighted fellows.
