The Climb

You start at zero, make your climb,

One stone at once, one mark in time.

While others drift, you chart and plot,

You move with purpose, break or not.

You’ve learned that love can’t feed the fire,

Not without drive, not without tire.

You want the throne, the deed, the right

But only earn it through the night.

They see your mask, your grit, your plan

But few see through the mountain man.

You feel, but quietly, with care,

You only trust what’s truly there.

Still, you are winter’s iron light

Not cold but forged through years of fight.

And when you reach that summit’s breath,

You’ve earned it all. You’ve laughed at death.
