The City Knows

A Poem

By Abigail Van HuisPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

jumping on the bandwagon,

with the promises that have been given.

worry condenses and tries to pulse through.

the bustling street, blurred images and colors

an aurora of figures.

the citadel leaning over, trying to get a look

at the new addition trying to blend its own.

down the path untouched

by the ones who glide, never walk,

moving towards one line they've never seen.

movements in motion,

within the range of doubt,

carrying burdens of gold and uncertainty.

unkempt, yet worthy of wisdom

beyond the field of colors,

and images,

and figures.

the coach lost at the first blink.

Peace comes to guide.
