Earth cracked from drilling
That black blood spilling, we might
Taste with tongues of flame
.
Flame in hearths and plants
An ash-making dance, spreading
Smoke upon the wind
.
Wind carrying smoke
On which the world chokes, trapped light
Boiling the oceans
.
Oceans which thus rise,
To touch air and skies, douse fires,
And drown the cracked earth.
