The Chasms in my skies

You faced the sun, then what happened?

As day breaks

You are a child

Following where the clouds went

A sweet dreamer, native to the world ahead

When night falls,

You’re an animal

Devouring your own skin

Trying to relate to stars and comets

In the evening

You're a 9-5 hustler

Trying to find meaning to every customer that breathes

Struggling just to make it home safe

Just before midnight

When the drinks settle,

Your arms give out and your legs drag onto your perfect wooden floor

I know you wonder

Then at 3:00 am

Every single time you can't sleep, you can't speak

Nectar is in your veins, flowers are blooming, your doubt is resting

It doesn't heal, none of this feels real,

How can you tell me what I feel?

When do I go out?

With ashes and fire,

And become a dancing shadow like you when I open my eyes.
