This Is Me

The Chameleon

My life is full of colors,

And I have those I prefer,

Yet I live in them all,

I must, they are my shell.

The plethora of hues hide me,

They keep me from harm,

Enable me to smile when hurt,

Laugh on the outside.

Colors help me fit in,

Protect me when I stand out,

Camouflage my fears,

Spotlight my abilities.

Bring peace to my wars,

Cover my tracks,

Allow me to wander,

Bring light to my darkness.

I interact with everyone,

Truth whispering from my soul,

Impatience hidden away,

Laughter my fall back.

I awkwardly social,

I have many flaws,

I am human,

Hidden in plain sight,

I am a chameleon.

About the Creator

Gregory Dolan Dies

I’ve been around the block a time or two but due to a bad left hip I never get far, I just keep walking in circles. I’m an old rusty merry-go-round that will leave you cut and in stitches.
