It was born in the depth of your psyche, unleashed to run rampant through your brain like a sewer rat gnawing through the chords of electrical wiring, burning out power to the stem of your cerebral cortex. Disconnected from the world, the beast can adopt fantasy into reality with none the wiser, Conspiracy and paranoia being its specialty. Contacting its host through subliminal messages and voices unheard by public ear. The host becomes incoherent to his or her surroundings and the assassin is allowed to direct, produce and star in the movie of the moment. psychosomatic babble is whispered in the ear of the beholder with prejudice towards all. neurological damage is eminent, the voices get louder and the paranoia is overwhelming. Who am I, where am I, who’s there. Things are definitely going bump in the night. Sleep is but a mere memory and memory is farsighted by the assassin’s trickery. The truth become lies and the lies become truth. No longer able to cope with society, the assassin’s employee is outcast and sent deeper into the realm of the puppet master.
Yet there is hope. A combatant created to jail the assassin. Connection made possible through oral manipulation, swallowed by its user to bring serenity from the chaos once caused. The battle is brutal and loved ones are tormented by denial. Persistence is won and the assassin is brought to its knees. A new leaf is turned and life is once again joyous. Daily doses will keep the beast at bay, but will never extinguish life from it completely. Always waiting for a disturbance in the atmosphere of your brain.

The Makings of a Photograph
Eric Kim said it best, when he describes his street photography as making a photo as opposed to taking a picture. He expresses asking someone to make a photograph seems more pleasing to hear as opposed to taking one's picture. The mere sound of the word “taking” adds a sense thievery and puts people on guard and less likely to agree to pose for a few snaps of the camera. Eric’s philosophy has added a whole new perspective to my own means of photography. I no longer look at my photos as a “picture taken,” but more so now as a “photo made.” A made photo is only made once the decision has been made to keep, show off, display or sell. Discarded pictures are your taken ones, taken, and discarded, and forgotten. Made pictures are the storytellers, like the story of the pictures I made for this chapter.
