This glass does not shatter on its’ own,

Beneath brightened stars and dreams we make,

The ceiling was never meant to be stone.

.

Cracks break form along its brittle capstone,

A diamond cage in centuries curate,

This glass does not shatter on its own.

.

From women before, we sit upon shoulders of bone,

Lighting the dark against vitriol hate,

The ceiling was never meant to be stone.

.

Assembled throng of morality intoned,

Will liberties be lost when greedy men slake,

This glass does not shatter on its own.

.

In trials of treason, cerebral weapons hone,

When voices quiet and tempers quake,

The ceiling was never meant to be stone.

.

Incendiary spark in hearts cyclone,

Shattering chips in sparkling daybreak,

This glass does not shatter on its own

The ceiling was never meant to be stone.
