The Candle’s Second Life

Bright and beautiful

The Candle’s Second Life

In darkness, something tried to breathe,

A flame reborn from wax beneath.

The blood had dried, the pain had slept,

Yet still the memory softly wept.

The shadows danced, the air grew thin,

A whisper called, Begin again.

And though the light was faint and small,

It burned enough to warm it all.

It flickered slow, it fought the breeze,

It lit the ghosts with quiet ease.

The walls still knew what came before,

The cries that time could not ignore.

Yet still it rose, a trembling glow,

A fragile will that would not go.

For even pain, when faced with grace,

Can find new light in darkest place.

The wax still bore its crimson scar,

A mark of where the tears once are.

It told of loss, of love once deep,

Of dreams that died but dared to sleep.

And though the blood had turned to clay,

Its scent of sorrow did not stay.

The flame now spoke of what survives,

The soft rebirth of shattered lives.

So let it burn, though brief its span,

It lives again where hope began.

For every heart that broke in two,

May find a spark to start anew.

The night may fall, the winds may cry,

Yet still that candle will defy.

It bleeds no more, it burns for peace,

A final breath, a sweet release.
