The camel

The peace of home

By C. C. KimmelPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

In the peace of the stars

I walk

On safe streets and porches

While Lululemon shorts and shirt

Adorn me like

Safe streets on peaceful stars

Father in heaven,

Hallowed be any name that

Calls upon the name of

Oh American god

Who blesses those

Who walk safe streets

On auburn autumn nights

Adorned in the glory of

Bodies burn across the world from

Video game bombs dropped

By Lululemon shorted boys

Walking along peaceful stars

Into all that we have ever

Been promised

“There is no compromise for

Safe streets and porches”

Father in heaven

Hollow be thy name

The kingdom is here

In the burning bodies of

Boys and girls

Of those cast out of the kingdom

With weeping and gnashing and longing

I keep refreshing my feed

To see

If that camel ever

Goes through the eye

Of that needle

But then check my likes

And buy the Lululemon shorts

And worship the priests and priestesses

Of the kingdom of stars

Father in heaven

Give us this day

Everything

There is no temptation on

Safe streets and porches

On Autumn stars

With video game warriors

There is no other god but

The godless noise

Of notification dings

And stocks rising and falling like stars

Burning down distant streets

Father in heaven

Thine is the kingdom

Mine is the kingdom

Kingdom of camels

Circling about needles

Looking for a way through

surreal poetry
