the call is coming from inside the house

the white noise that welcomes you

Inside,

White noise (from the congealing fridge) comforts me

The ancestors scare me with their rattling

The call is coming from inside the house

A fly disrupts the silence of the white noise

And the moth directs me to the TV set

The channel changes, without any fingers,

“Just a mundane technical difficulty, this happens all the time,”

You must be thinking

The call is coming from inside the house

The propagated plant is dangerously thirsty all of a sudden,

And you were just here yesterday, with water in your hands

The call is coming from inside the house;

You have been trying to save the world outside,

Yet inside, your environment has been calling for you.

Stand down, water the plants, reset the altar,

Take a deep breath.

The call is coming from inside the house.

And then let it out. You are safe here now
