It was the last passenger of the day!

He was alone on the bus

glad they're spending all that money

just to take me up eighth avenue.

Conductor! I yelled, it's just you and me tonight.

Let's get away from this big city

to a smaller city, more in line with the heart

Let's guide through the pools of Miami Beach

you in the driver's seat and me several seats in the back

But in racial cities we'll change places

to show how you managed in the North

and let's discover some small American fishing village

in unknown Florida

and stop by the sand

a huge bus calling attention to itself

metallic, painted, solitary

with New York registration
