The Broken Mold

Admiration

For whom, upon her casting,

The mold was broken

Earth that birthed

A goddess

Ground, now hallowed

For a queen

Has walked upon it

Men bow down

To worship

Her shadow as it passes

She be not naked

For simply beauty’s sake

But born bare

For all she needs to wear

Is grace

A quiet strength

Held within her stare

The path that she forges

Amongst the shattered shards

Of the broken mold

The ghosts of her foremothers

Parting the way

Beckoning all women

Who will come after

To come with

In the freedom of her footsteps

I can only dream to follow
