Ahh, coffee.
i enjoy coffee
i saw a sign once that said
"give me coffee and Jesus"
and it unraveled me slightly
Jesus is a must-have for me
but coffee is optional
and Jesus should always be
first
even on a sign
that being said
i like my coffee strong
because it's not just a drink
it's an experience
i put fufu creamer in it
sweet and strong
have you ever wondered how coffee
came to be a drink?
did someone get curious and pick
some beans and eat them...
and then realize their zoomies
were from the beans they ate?
and the next thing you know
the whole village is swinging from
the tribal chandeliers
what would they think of the
plethora of coffee choices and
car-priced coffee makers...
would they nod in approval or
scoff at our processing of coffee beans
i sit out here under the trees
whenever i can
my quiet spot
a place of
reflection
introspection
dissection
as i survey God's creation
with awe and wonder
every single day
with Jesus right here with me
through His Spirit
and as i enjoy my
coffee with a view
i thank God for the
new day He's given me
breath in my lungs
hope in my heart
and the coffee tree.

βThen God said, βLet the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earthβ; and it was so.
And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind.
And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day.β Genesisβ¬ β1β¬:β11β¬-β13β¬ βNKJVβ¬β¬
