The boy with one shoe in a canoe

Poem

There was a boy with one shoe in a canoe, who was not sure what he should do.

How did he know what his favourite sound is, did it snap, bang, crackle, fizz?

The boy listened to the forest speak and then he heard a sound that shrieked.

He paddled round and round, up and down, but he could not find what made the sound.

The boy looked high and he looked low, but still unsure of where to go.

The boy grew tired and ready to sleep, headed home in defeat.

All tucked up and still unsure, what had made that noise before.

Drifting off and resting more, a new day loomed to explore, for the boy who would go out in his canoe with his one shoe.
