No longer even ‘that’ guy

Faded from memory like I never existed; like we never ‘were’

The sweetness that was, diluted by time 'til what ‘was’ ,

Was drowned out

The pain of loss only matched in intensity

By that caused from holding onto 'my' everything

But thinking my everything is now your nothing

Never was, never happened; paling in significance to your other everything’s

Your boy - the one who no longer exists

He eventually became a man

That child-like wonder, imagination and excitement lies dormant

Frozen; praying for the return of your warmth to once again thaw out the beauty trapped within

All that now remains is my hurt and regret.
