The Bottom Of The Deep Blue Sea

A Struggle With Chronic Illness

By The OmnichromiterPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

All these sirens have been singing to me,

But I've been listening to the wrong melody.

Listen to the music of the seven seas.

Praying to those who keep me from my knees.

To the wolves and thieves and the angels I believe;

What can I do to sing out in that soft green release.

Take me to my own disease,

To the bottom of the deep blue sea .

Say you know when I'm gone forever, you won't see

When the sun comes up and the sky turns gray.

Every dying star has a symphony,

Connected by the light of the third degree.

Drowning in my own entropy.

Hanging onto a simple melody.

The wind and the waves in between,

And the golden sun and the world beneath.

You will find me in a dream,

For in my heart is a night you'll never see.

The Omnichromiter

I write stories like spells—soft at the edges, sharp underneath. My poems are curses in lace, lullabies that bite back. I don’t believe in happily ever after. I believe in survival, transformation; in burning and blooming at the same time.
