The Boo Hag

The South's Own Vampire That Comes At Night!

The Gullah tells the tale of an old hag that roams the south.

Who wanders freely in the dark silent night.

She makes her way through cracks and crevices of your home.

Looking to make true terror with such heinous sight.

She makes her way to your bed as you slumber.

She presses deep on your chest, as your bound where you slumber.

Unable to move as your petrified with fear.

She steals your breath as no one can hear.

But beware if you shall scream, as you feast your eyes on her.

For she bares no warm flesh, for her skin is red as blood.

Make one move or sound and your flesh is hers to wear.

She then can walk in all light.

As she wears your skin day and night.

Till she sets her sight in the night.

But without fresh skin before the light.

She is forever bound with no skin at first morning light.

Paint your homes with haint blue.

For that old hag at first sight is bound to faint.

Leave a broomstick at your door in the night.

She'll count all straws till first light.

But don't worry, don't cry, and don't say a word.

But whatever you do don't let the Boo Hag ride ya.
