The Beast Below

Against rage and ruin- wind and snow,

Its whispered plea calls out to me,

Forevermore the beast below.

When sunlight breaks in yolk-ish glow,

Darkness creeps amid souls’ debris,

Against rage and ruin- wind and snow.

.

Picks my bones like savage crow.

Pecking eyes for none can see,

Forevermore the beast below.

.

Silver tongue and honeyed woe,

It beckons release sardonically,

Against rage and ruin- wind and snow.

.

My breathing caught. Apropos?

With brutish strength, it will sing for me,

Forevermore the beast below.

.

A blood-soaked mouth after flurried blow,

The monster caged on bended knee,

Against rage and ruin- wind and snow

Forevermore the beast below.
