On the sands of Haifa bay,

Where the Mediterranean meets the shore,

A battle raged that fateful day,

In nineteen forty-eight's early war.

The Israeli and Arab armies,

Clashed in a fight to claim the land,

And both sides were determined,

To win with all their might and hand.

The sounds of gunshots filled the air,

As soldiers fought and died,

And the fate of Haifa hung in the balance,

As the day slowly turned into night.

The Jews fought with all their heart,

For the city they called their own,

And as the battle raged on and on,

Their courage and bravery shone.

The Arab armies, they did not relent,

In the face of the Jewish might,

And though the battle raged for days,

They refused to give up the fight.

But in the end, it was the Israelis,

Who emerged victorious and strong,

As they fought for their homeland,

And defended it all day long.

Now the battle of Haifa is a memory,

But it will always be remembered in time,

For the courage and bravery shown,

By those who fought in that battle sublime.
