The Barn Owl Named Luna

H4

Once upon a time, in a land far away,

There lived a barn owl, wise and grey.

Her name was Luna, and she lived in a tree,

In the heart of the woodland, wild and free.

One day, a message came, from the king of the land,

Summoning Luna, with a royal command.

She flew to the castle, with wings spread wide,

Wondering what the king could possibly confide.

When Luna arrived, the king spoke with despair,

Of a wicked witch, who had cast a dire spell.

The crops had withered, and the people were starving,

The kingdom was suffering, and the future was harrowing.

Luna listened, and a plan began to form,

She knew of a herb, that could break any charm.

But it grew in a far-off land, guarded by dragons fierce,

Luna told the king, she would bring it back, at any cost, and in any guise.

The king was overjoyed, and gave Luna a chest,

Filled with gold coins, to help her on her quest.

Luna thanked the king, and set off with ease,

Determined to find the herb, and bring it to the kingdom, with all due speed.

She flew for days, through storms and through rain,

Dodging predators, and facing great pain.

She encountered bandits, who tried to steal her gold,

But Luna was clever, and her stories were told.

She met travelling musicians, who shared their food and song,

Luna joined in, but knew she couldn't linger long.

She had a quest to complete, and a kingdom to save,

And so, she persevered, with courage and bravery, undaunted by the challenges that lay ahead.

Finally, Luna reached the land where the herb grew,

The dragons guarding it, were fierce and true.

But Luna was cunning, and disguised herself as a leaf,

Blowing in the wind, and in between the dragons, she deftly weaved.

She plucked the herb, and wrapped it with care,

And flew back to the kingdom, with the herb in her lair.

The king was waiting, with open arms and a smile,

Luna gave him the herb, and the kingdom was reconciled.

The witch's spell was broken, and the crops began to grow,

The people rejoiced, and Luna's name, they came to know.

The king offered Luna a place in his court,

But Luna declined, and returned to the forest, with a kind retort.

The king respected Luna, and gave her a reward,

For her bravery, and all that she had done.

Luna returned to the woodland, and lived out her days,

Helping the villagers, and watching over them, in so many ways.

One day, a dragon attack occurred, and Luna flew to the rescue,

Defeating the dragon, and saving the kingdom anew.

The people rejoiced, and thanked Luna for all she had done,

And Luna lived happily ever after, loved and respected by everyone.

Her legacy lived on, in the hearts of the people,

And the barn owl named Luna, became a hero, forever and ever.
