With shards of shattered reflections
I cut dark threads woven into tapestries
threads of red and black
that seek to tie down or tie up
the silk and the lace
no longer a slave to those coarse fibers
no longer a victim of the looking glass
no longer in need of shields in silk or lace
My ink scrawled words become iridescent orbs
lighter than air, full of every hue
and within those spheres, if you look closely
you may find a glimpse of yourself too
