sits alone

taken off and thrown
hair lifting in the wind
sweat drying
stench blowing away
hands grasp at nothing
mouths spit gibberish
and we're walking away
back there in assumption land
whole genders disregarded
social classes compartmentalized
skin color paramount
mountains crumble to the see
there is still I and eye
Alice and the Mad Hatter having
every reason to hope
that we put it to the test
and didn't break the essence
here to prove the theory
of tensile strength within
the context of promise
to love no matter what
my distance is not disparagement
but a farther force of being
a meeting of two minds
