The Art of Man
Man desires nothing more than to
Analyze and quantify everything that he touches
The lines must be straight and the angles right
Or they will not fit in his machined world
The exactness of computation down to the decimal
Man’s art is found in the abstract
In chalk dust and pencil shavings
Of physics theories and mathematical principles
That which he makes, does not fit in the natural world
It is out of place against the organic
For the sun in its circumference sheds light
Dancing on nature’s curves and symmetry
In color, where true beauty lies
Breathing and living with grace in its imperfections
Without care to the measurements of man
It drives him to madness, that which he does not understand
He keeps asking “How” and “Why”
Thus he lives and dies trying to define
That which simply is and simply does
