The Aromas Dancing in the Air
Lavender can have soothing qualities
Waking up to this particular smell
You smile peacefully
You take a deep breath
A new day has come
You know all the challenges that await
But for the now,
Tranquility is shown
Don’t forget to water the vase
A vase full of purple wonder
You then go to your garden
The Mama is there
You take a few stems
Delicious tea you crave
No headaches will be seen
Not today
The most important thing is…
that it calms your mind
For a fresh new day
Challenges ahead
Just to go back and smell
Smell the aromas dancing in the air

Spectating
I can't imagine dying like this, in a place like this; on a cold, dirty pavement with rush hour traffic screaming by and a crowd looking on while paramedics struggle to find space to move. Who could? Deep down we all think there should be a reason, a moment of clarity... or a family presence, at least. For this man, this boy, the rail thin woman lighting a cigarette in a faux fur jacket will have to do - she's been here since the start, her eyes tracking the movement of my shoulders as we fight to keep him on the right side of the line.
