The Architecture of the Ache

The rooms have no corners now,
only the places
where memory forgets
its own mouth,
where trembling prayers pool
beneath the ribs
and something ancestral waits
to speak in a tongue of salt.
A hush thickens into prophecy,
a presence rising
through porcelain skin
before a name can be formed
to catch it.
There is a heat,
quiet as hunger,
circling the spine
like a question asked
long before the first temple
was hewn from the rock.
Once, the sun was a servant.
Once, there was the gold
of the Maharaja,
a throne of camphor
and the worship of a thousand knees,
before the descent,
before the nectar turned to ash.
Now, a ghost in the nerves,
a shadow-weight
behind the heartbeat,
a watcher whose gaze is a storm
held captive
in a grain of sand.
The body answers
what the mind cannot see:
the trembling flood,
the slow surrender,
the slip of the self
into the oil-spill of the deep.
The world recedes
until every horizon bends
toward a single, silent center.
An ache opens
like a heavy jade gate,
a soft collapse of boundaries
until there is only pulse,
and the recognition
of the cage
that feels like a harbor.
To be the fire
that does not beg,
to be the tide dragging
the soul
from its moorings,
it is a transformation
etched in the void.
I have become
something
not of this world,
a timeless echo,
a devourer
wearing the skin of a man,
waiting in the quiet
beneath the chaos
where flame and void
are one.
In the place
where desire becomes vision,
devotion is a kind of fever-heat,
and the mind kneels
to the ruin
it was sculpted for.
The water is dark,
dream-heavy and thick,
rising to meet
the one who steadies
the shaking world
with hands made of gravity and stars.
Take the breath
back to the threshold
where it turns holy,
to the dark
where the voice first
found the blood,
to the silver scar
that hums with the memory
of the burn.
Where the path is ash,
and dreaming
is the only truth left.
Walking into the fire is not a death,
it is the only place
where the eyes finally open,
where the serpent
and the storm
become the same breathing thing.
