The Anthropocene Epoch

An Odious Sentiment

a cynical view

Mankind's vicious kiss upon Earth

Our detriment of the planet

The destruction we have wrought

The biological reconfiguration, a deformation

Our planetary waste

Our planetary disgrace

A dying land of the soon to be extinct

To what ends are we willing to survive?

None, to save our Earth so far we've shown

So we peer at the heavens, to the cosmos

Should the stars be the answer?

To become the scourge of Sol

To conquer another world in our brutal hands

A diseased race, killers and squanderers

Have we the right to try again?

To reach for the universe, the galaxies and all their glory

To survive is to abandon

Can we be trusted to learn from our mistakes?

To spread humanity’s fingers outward bound

To rape and pillage another world as we have Earth

Mankind has begot the end of our Anthropocene

The swift end of our Epoch

Soon to be nothing but a crumbling breed, a dying seed

I've accepted my place, a member of the declining human race
