come close, bend down

I’ve a secret to tell

the answer to life

lies here, my dear

if you read between the lines

-

with eyes you may

do as you wish

throw dust, it’s fun

turn blind, just one

or even pull the wool

-

take seriously

this funny business

and dis the honest

who honestly

were never fun

-

be quick, pull fast

your ties will snap

but who needs friends?

it's a long, lone road

the one more traveled

-

all can try

not all succeed

sharpen your tongue

it’s hard to swallow

push it through your teeth

-

would rather two faces

than just the one

if truth be told

you did it wrong

candor was not invited

-

skip the squares

for crooked lines

make your bed

weave your web

fabrication is the best policy

-

conscience you are

yet conscience be damned

lie down to rise

bring smoke to light

don’t forget your mirror

-

don’t remove the mask

it saves you face

deflect, my friend

interrogation is short

for the confident

-

come now, not clean

hang up emotions

too stifling to wear

when under the heat

dodge, twist, stretch, obfuscate

-

close to reality

in reality, far from it

the answer you seek

will set you free

for lying gets you everything

how to
