The Ancient Tree
Many moons have come and gone this tree lived each one

The Ancient Tree
I found an old tree standing proud,
Its branches reached beyond the sky.
Each twisted limb held whispered tales,
Of countless years gone drifting by.
Its roots embraced the waiting earth,
Like hands that never let love fade.
Through storm and frost it held its ground,
Beneath the cool green shade it made.
The autumn leaves were drops of fire,
Gold and amber danced with grace.
Each one floated soft to earth,
A gentle smile upon its face.
The wind became its oldest friend,
Together singing all day long.
No written words could tell the tale,
Yet every breeze became a song.
I touched the bark so rough with time,
And felt a quiet settle deep.
The world grew still around my heart,
As though the tree had lulled to sleep.
It seemed to know both joy and pain,
The laughter and the silent tears.
Still reaching upward every day,
Through every passing year of years.
The birds returned with morning light,
To build their homes among its arms.
Their cheerful chorus filled the air,
Wrapped safely in the forest’s charms.
Before I left I turned once more,
The old tree stood both brave and free.
A faithful soul with roots of hope,
Forever watching over me.
