“The Analog Human Moment
An Unofficial Challenge”

THE UNOFFICIAL ANALOG CHALLENGE: “THE HUMAN MOMENT”
This is an unofficial community challenge for writers who want to work at the edge of their craft. The goal is to write a short piece under 800 words that captures a human reacting to a real circumstance in their environment. The tone must remain analog, grounded, and unmistakably human. This must be posted in the Human caregory.
Challenge Requirements
• Metaphors and symbolism are required, but they must come from your actual cultural DNA, ancestral, familial, or lived. No generic symbols. No borrowed mythologies unless they are yours by lineage or experience.
• Sentences must be tight. No dangling participles. No lazy phrasing. No filler.
• Adverbs must be chosen from a physical thesaurus or dictionary. Not digital. Not AI generated. Analog only.
• Mythic tone is required, but it must be anchored in the musical mood of C major with a B minor undertone in your presentation or voiceover. This is interpretive mood, cadence, or emotional chord, not literal sheet music.
• One redundancy is allowed, but only one, and it must clarify an injustice or imbalance in the story.
• Everything else must remain verbatim to your lived experience. No embellishing the event beyond metaphorical framing.
• Your face must appear in any AI generated photo you include. No faceless avatars. No symbolic stand ins. The writer must be present.
• A voiceover is required, recorded in your own voice, following the emotional contour of C major with a B minor shadow.
What to Write
A short piece about a moment not a grand event where you, as an analog human, react to something in your environment. The metaphors may rise, the symbols may glow, but the core must remain real.
Submission Notes
• Keep it under 800 words.
• Keep it human.
• Keep it yours.
Must be posted in the Humans category.
