The Ameliorated Hero

From the depths of the abyss to the creaking light, the path is long, But the hero must exemplify courage and must be strong,

To overcome the foreboding evil inside, And only let the goodness be your guide.

Once filled with malice, anger, and hate, The protagonist walks though the guardians gate,

A heart consumed by darkness and fear, And every soul that crossed, he did jeer.

But one day, a glimmer of light he saw, Shone in the darkness, so bright, in awe.

He saw a profound new way, And he knew he could not delay.

With every step, the light grew strong, The darkness fled, so he could hear the song,

A nostalgic feeling of hope, love, and joy, And the protagonist knew he must employ,
