In a time of elegance and grace When the world was a little more refined There was a charm and sophistication That was both rare and divine The ladies wore their finest gowns Of silk and lace and tulle And their hats were a work of art That added to their beauty's full The gentlemen were always dressed In suits and ties and hats And their manners were impeccable In every social chat The music of the time was grand With melodies that swept the heart And the dances were a sight to see With couples never far apart The art and literature of the time Were works of pure inspiration And the stories told were timeless With messages of hope and liberation In the age of elegance and grace There was a sense of community Where people came together In celebration of unity The gardens were a sight to behold With blooms in every hue And the fragrances were a symphony That filled the senses through and through Oh, how I long for that time When life was a little more refined With a touch of grace that was divine For in this age of elegance There was a beauty that cannot be denied And the memories of those bygone days Will forever live inside.
