The Aftermath...

A Life In Ruins!

I stand here amongst the rubble

My head once held high

Just hanging on

Out from my lips I hear another sign

Filled with disbelief

My world filled with anguish

I grieve for the life I have lost

I ask myself is this a Blessing

Or a Curse

Things have finally slowed down

The first time I could have ever stopped

I try to catch my breath

Eyes blurry full of tears

My mind screams

I fear the chaos will consume me

A life full of dreams

Awaken now

Only to be stuck in nightmares

No friends or family who understand

No one there to hold my hand

I crumble to the ground

Looking for my old self

A fleeting memory

Never to be found

I look to the heavens

I pray to the Creator above

I accept the fact that now I am lost

It's a fact this is my life

A Life in Ruins....

Who Am I?

I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.

I now search to find myself!
