An illegitimate youngster will do nearly

anything to get endorsement

from the world.

A gesture

or then again

any indication of acknowledgment

would make me put my own life in harm's way.

Once

I let my sister lift me

on top of both of her drawn out feet

in obscurity

of our common pink and white room.

She mirrored a shaky likeness to Superman

her legs locked at the knee

also, me, hanging in the air

both her hands holding tight to my wrists.

I lie back on the bottoms of her feet

let her kick me up into the night's facial structure.

I landed hard against a board

fragmented against the edge

of our new and uncovered steel bed outline.

My lower arm split itself into a welcome flood

blood spilling like a tune

furthermore, I swore I could hear my dad sing.
