The 26th of January

A Packers fan's heartfelt villanelle celebrating the 30th anniversary of Super Bowl XXXI

By Clyde E. DawkinsPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

The Packers achieved the ultimate goal

On a January evening in the southeast

Winning the 31st Super Bowl

Favre and Levens were on a roll

Passing and rushing yards they did feast

The Packers achieved the ultimate goal

Coach Holmgren--truly the heart and soul

Our home field dominance was a joy, at least

Winning the 31st Super Bowl

The playoffs was an easy stroll

Niners and Panthers fell to the beast

The Packers achieved the ultimate goal

The Patriots were last to pay the toll

35 to 21 was the final in the east

Winning the 31st Super Bowl

Desmond Howard; most valuable as a whole

The Green and Gold dominance never ceased

The Packers achieved the ultimate goal

Winning the 31st Super Bowl
