That’s Life

When in my days of youthful cheer

The shadows seemed so small

The smiling faces disguised all the tears

As if there were none at all

Then trials and troubles and storms arose

And people I loved I’ve lost

I gave the best of my heart away

And never counted the cost

friends will take the great in you

And reduce you to ash and dust

I fought like hell to hold on tight

But my gold is turning to rust

I use to say it will be ok

That the daylight will come for sure

But with each day I drift further away

Its hard to believe anymore
