That man

From: Mind's Mirror

By Mat BarnsleyPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
That man: A poem about PTSD.

I'm afraid of that man…

Of the things he's done and seen

Yes, I'm afraid of that man…

The world has left him mean

I'm afraid of that man…

I've seen him hurt so many

Yes, I'm afraid of that man…

His very presence haunts me

I'm afraid of that man…

That gaunt face and piercing eyes

Yes, I'm afraid of that man…

He seems he's lost his mind

I'm afraid of that man…

Of the things he could do or be.

Yes, I'm afraid of that man…

In the mirror staring back at me.
