Thank you Black leaders. When the world had us chained and enslaved as can be, you made sure we were free.
Thank you Black leaders. When despair wasn’t hard to find you helped us escape it using our minds.
Thank you Black leaders. When the world’s opportunities weren’t balanced properly you showed us how to fight for equality.
Thank you Black leaders. You made sure we didn’t drown in sorrow. We know a dark night leads to a brighter tomorrow.
Thank you Black leaders. You taught us all sooner or later we are all destined to be creators.
Thank you Black leaders. No matter how dark the world seems you remind us that we are all kings and queens.

This is great, powerful and positive.
This is poignant and so much needs to be said -- and more often. Love that last line, too. This week, my son experienced a situation at school that appears to be racial bias at work (again). He needed this reminder, he's a king. But the world needs to be reminded too, and it shouldn't need reminding. Thank you for your writing.
