Thank You

Pain and Change

By Dan RosePublished 9 years ago • 1 min read
The Phoenix

Thank you for hurting me,

For putting me through pain

Thank you for lying to me

Until I couldn't stand the strain

The pain and hurt went away

after you were gone

And you didn't break me

I’m still here and holding on

But something in me changed

I am not the same

The nice you knew guy is gone

He has died playing your game

What's left is a man

Someone you should fear

Someone who won’t back down

From someone like you, my dear

sad poetry
