Tennessee Wed
Destiny
he was a Yankee girl
New England born and bred
Raised on the privileged shores
Of Boston
Never thinking she’d forsake her hometown or State
Never thinking she would ever leave
But there he was, sitting on a bar stool
In a dim lit cave of a pub
Arms wrapped around his guitar
Strumming and singing his pretty songs
Trying so damn hard to look like some kind of
Bad boy outlaw who only wanted to steal hearts
And score some quick affection
And phone numbers
Like the proverbial poorly written romance novel
Their eyes met and could not be torn apart
Just like their hearts were destined to be
There was no disengaging
From the electric magnetism
Arcing between them
A switch had been flipped
And their hearts were turned on and became one
He was Indiana born and bred
Reared on a farm in the deep Midwest
Moving to Nashville to chase his dreams
He ended up chasing and breaking hearts instead
He always pretended he
Was just some good ole country boy
Drinking, smoking, and flirting too much
It never once crossed his mind
His heart would be captured forever
By a pretty Yankee girl ten years his junior
That he would want to have on and in his arms forever
But in that moment, they both knew
What they always wanted
And that with each other by their sides
They were so much more
He was truly the Man he always wanted to be
She was the Woman God needed her to be
Leaving behind childhood thoughts and aspirations
They became the “us” they were meant to be
She became his bride, he became her man
She was Boston born and bred
He was Indiana born and bred
They were Tennessee loved and wed
