Tender Grasses Softly Wave
A Haiku Sonnet
Before you read, I recommend putting on your favorite haiku ambient music. I recommend the Forgotten Song by Ilan Eshkeri and Shigeru Umebayashi from the Ghost of Tsushima soundtrack. You can find it linked below.
Breathe deep and enjoy.
Hear the ice break free
Flowing down the wakened stream
Tender grasses wave
*
See the buds unfurl
A veil against the swelter
Sturdy grasses sway
*
Feel the biting breeze
Crimson leaves upon the wind
Bronzing grasses weave
*
Contemplate the stream
Lying silent in the hush
Frozen grasses sleep
*
In deep-rooted memories
Tender grasses softly wave

A haiku sonnet is a poetic format whose combination of the two forms is credited to the poet, David Marshall. It consists of 4 haikus and an unrhymed couplet of 5 or 7 syllables for a total of 14 lines. More information on this format can be found in David Marshall's blog and in Wordwool's article here.

This was nice. I'm trying to find different ways to write and your writing is very helpful. I'm a beginner and it will mean a lot to me if you could read my stories and give me some pointers I would appreciate if you could help me thank you. You are very talented.
Your beautiful poem is a poignant reminder of the cyclical nature of life and the passing of time. Each stanza is a testament to the changing of seasons, from the thawing of winter to the blooming of spring, the warmth of summer, and the coolness of autumn. The personification of the grasses adds an emotional depth to the poem, as they sway, unfurl, and weave in the wind. The final stanza, with its reference to deep-rooted memories, is particularly touching, reminding us that even as time passes and things change, there are always memories and moments that will stay with us forever. Overall, your poem is to me a beautiful ode to the beauty of nature and the passage of time, and it is sure to touch the hearts of anyone who reads it. And this music along .... Wow !
Such masterful imagery! And the immersive music was the perfect addition.

Astounding poem -- the way the senses play variation on the setting, with the grasses wending their way through the seasons like a stream.
This form was new to me and your music suggestion paired perfectly! 🥰
