Teenage Depression No One Sees

They say, You’re young, what’s there to fear?

Still the walls press in, the voices sneer.

Every hallway, every class,

feels like a test I’ll never pass.

A hand half-raised, then pulled back down,

words get lost, I start to drown.

A laugh too loud, a glance too long,

was that right, or was it wrong?

My chest is tight, my hands turn cold,

a script I fumble, thoughts untold.

Each step feels like a thousand eyes,

waiting for me to fail, I close my eye's.

The days repeat, the nights won’t end,

I break, I bend, then break again.

And still, they say, this isn’t real.

But tell me how am I supposed to feel?

The doc says, Take this pill,

you will get through this.

I reply,

Depression is just a load of piss.

I really find it hard to cope,

my friends said, Try crack or dope.

I reach out but nothing is right

All tears and anxiety isnt right?

At a loss, how do I get through this?

Teenage depression is just piss.

So I will keep it all locked in my head,

while I try my best not to be so easily led.

Each day is dark, yet I still look for light.

I know I have to win this fight.

Maybe docs pills will make me heal,

I can then say I am getting better for real.

They say boys don’t feel like this or cry,

We need more awareness to get by.

Boy or girl just remember with out doubt,

It really is ok not to be ok, Just shout it out
