Tears of a Geisha Girl

The Shame and Sadness of the Fate of a Geisha Girl

By Monea LaTurPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read
For many years a small majority of the world thought that Geisha girls were prostitutes. During the war, some of the Geisha girls did use their beauty for trade to the American soldiers. This poem is for all of the Geisha girls who were taken from their families and sold to Geisha houses.

Grieving through adolescence to the blossoming appetizer for men

Engulfed in an unknown world filled with lust at the age of ten

Is a child trapped in an hourglass body to fulfill a lustful need

She waits helplessly for the highest bidder to sow his meaningless seed

He will taint her purity with foulness and shame

Always wanting more of her each time he hears her name

Geisha is a curse for this young and beautiful girl

Inside her soul she knows she's no longer a flawless pearl

Realizing her youth is leaving as the years pass her by

Lying in the dark with shameful memories of why she cries.
