Tattoos and Restaurant

People with a thousand stories inked onto their skins at a local restaurant.

I.

Blue dolphins swim down

on an aged and withered arm.

The ancient lady so prim and proper

Doesn't hide its fun,

twisting, contorting under

the wrinkles and flab that bounce

and wiggle as she works a spoon of soup

with her dainty, little hand.

II.

Elsewhere, a chain connects

a heart on a fit and firm thigh.

The well-toned, tanned legs

doesn't hide its good health

or the bright red heart,

locked to a golden bracelet,

that's inked into the skin.

III.

A dragon breaths fire

from a lady' shoulder.

Trying to fry the butterfly

on her daughter's nape.

Or Trying to burn off

her son's written conquests

of ladies on his calf and neck.

IV.

They come in,

people feeding their hunger

but they wear their thirst and desire

on the canvas of their skin.

V.

They may be old

or fit or young.

A mother, daughter, son.

But they let the ink speak

beyond their status

to show who they really are.

And hope the world in this

fast food joint will

see what they want them to see.
