Tati

A poem

I hear that electronic keyboard interlude

everywhere I go.

-

Steps through this Tati city

small man, large hat,

larger buildings,

larger smokestacks spewing corrosion

straight into my lungs.

-

Spinning wheels,

a thousand cogs,

plates on top of sticks.

-

They’re there, forever barely keeping balance.

Your driver was unable to collect all of the necessary fragments.

The three legged dog still runs, and yet, you’re still.

How little have you done?

Forever washing your hands,

but it was your blood that was spilled.

-

Your driver was unable

to deliver all of your pills.

-

This engine runs idly,

look at all they built.

Look at how

they crush you

with such delicacy

and skill.
