Tata – You Are My Solid Rock

Forever

Me and My Brother

Since you left, the days don’t break the same,

They gather slowly and call your name.

A quiet settles where laughter lived,

In every word you used to give.

You were my rock through sun and rain,

Three hundred sixty-five—again,

No day too small, no thought too slight,

You walked beside me, day and night.

You said you held me when I was new,

Changed my world before I knew,

Pushed my carriage down city streets,

Turned strangers’ faces into treats.

I still see us on the West Side air,

Walking with great care—

We had very little, yet felt grand,

With soft drinks in our hands.

We walked for miles, ten or five,

Where all my dreams would come alive,

You’d smile and say, “Just dare to see—

A dream tells us what we can be.”

And now the road feels longer still,

The echoes climb each silent hill.

I saw you fade into the sunset, yet felt you stayed

A final gift that held the day.

So though you’re gone from what I see,

You’ve never really left me

Your laugh still breaks inside my mind—

It is a living trace you left behind.
